Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful experiences, they are so moving! Glad to here you are combining your moving experiences with those of joyous celebrations! Special hello to Laura - great photo!

Great to hear your tales of adventures and recipes.
What about doing a CA Gap Year cookbook? Give Delia a run for her money.

Hello again! Sounds as though you're having an awesome time... I'm quite, quite jealous of the food you're eating - any possibility of perhaps bringing back a turtle cake or two Jema? Or...even better - ask for the recipe! Yum Yum. Enjoy your second week :-)

Ho you lot - are you all as fat as balloons? Special hello to Emily - we are missing you. Eid in my street consisted of so may fire works that the police were out with a helicopter for three hours shining a spotlight on the street and trying to find bad boys whose main target was to blow up apoliceman with supersonic fireworks. Eating cakes sounds much more fun. Take care you'all. Eildon

Sounds like you're having a great time - no risk of any of you losing weight while you're away! I'm looking forward to seeing the photos when you get back (and hopefully getting some of them up on Global Gang).

Sounds like you're having a good time. Feasting is always a great way to get know people. Hope you don't feel too bloated in the morning!!

Thanks for all the stories, keep up the good work.

Eid mubarak!

It's so sad that England (well, the western Christian England that I know) doesn't have these sorts of community celebrations, where neighbours and friends can share food and conversation like this. Thank you for sharing it with us via the blog!

(But argh curses on you for describing such lovely food - my lunchtime flask of soup is going to be SUCH a let-down!)
