In January 2006, five Christian Aid staff travelled to Tajikistan in Central Asia – once a country that lacked little thanks to Soviet subsidies, but today has descended into extreme poverty. Their blogs were hugely popular. In the autumn of 2006, Christian Aid's Director for Churches and Community travelled to the region and blogged about his experiences and theological reflections during the journey. He was followed by 15 Christian Aid gap year students. Four and a half years on and we pick up the story once again as three Christian Aid staff travel to Tajikistan.
Tajikistan Travels starts up again soon with two trips planned for September and late October. The entries promise another set of perspectives and stories - so be sure to tune in.
